Kite boarding video

This is me taking off and going up wind. They want you to learn how to go up wind before you learn how to go down wind for apparent reasons. I did get some air , but I wiped out both times because I didn't have the kite in the right place. But I know now.

The speed was pretty incredible. A very strange feeling to go that fast without a motor. Once I got the hang of it I was surprised at how easy it was. I could go against the wind easier than running with the wind because I could control the speed better.

Running with the wind was like skiing behind a speed boat with a driver who didn't know you were back there. I was able to go down wind until things got out of control then I would turn my board sideways and drop my butt in the water. Kinda like a Hayes trying to stop on snow skis. After about a 100 yards I could get the thing back under control and go down wind again. I'm pretty sure that manuver isn't in the hand book, but it worked. I figured I had a lot of tolerance since it was my 3rd time on the thing anyway.

The only problem now, is that I have one more thing I love to do and can't, unless I'm with Dean, the guy who owns the equipment. All well,

"just love it for what it is and when you can do it and let that be what it is and nothing more."

and you can quote me on that.
