Samuel Henry Ray

Sam is on the left... and Brody is just too funny as usual.

weight: 8lb 5.3oz 20.4" long.

posted earlier:

He came in a flash...after we had been there for 11 hours.

We came into the hospital at 12:30, monday morning, and got set up to start the birth process by 2:30. Slept for a while and everything was nice and easy until about 11:45 am, when CO wanted me to find a nurse because it was feeling really different.
then WHAM BAM, KA-POW! 12:22 - Sam is on the scene.

He got his approach a little off center and they had to bounce on CO like a pogo stick, but he finally came out, beat up and bruised, but alive and kicking.

He was relatively calm given all the commotion going on around him. He seemed more concerned about getting his bearings than letting everybody know how ticked off he was. Brody scared me to death when he came out. I thought he was going to kick by butt. Brody wanted the whole hospital know exactly how he felt.

CO did a great job. There were 3 other moms in labor, but we won. She said it hurts really bad, so let's just get him out! About 19 minutes from the 1st push, it was over.

I was rock steady in the after math. As soon as they cut the cord and I snapped a few shots of CO holding Sam, I scooped him up and carried him off to the clean up room. On the way back in the delivery I had to push a side a table that had a big pile of something on it, but I didn't get weak in the knees, I just ignored it like someone being irritating and brought the big guy back to mom for some food.

We are sleeping now and as soon as Sam is fixed up, we'll upload some photos.

I hate to say it, but he looks like me, but with a pointy head.

Way to go Adam ... no sickness. I miss the play-by-play as we got from Brody's entrance into the world.
